It's no secret that a solid exercise program has numerous benefits. Longer life, better sleep, slimmer body, these are simply many of the stuff you can expect with any exercise program. For most people, they question is which exercise is best? If you walk into a gym you will be assigned numerous machines, all of these can be extremely confusing. However, many believe the top exercise doesn't demand a gym at all.

This is where the story really gets good. Christopher requires a vacation to Mexico to fulfill Caballo Blanco who may have apparently been living using the natives for several years and it has a knowledge of why they can run the way they can. Once they get together he hears Caballo's story and Christopher tells that story with this book. Caballo discusses the Leadville 100 miler which is considered among the harder 100 mile ultra marathons. The Tarahumara we invited fot it ultra marathon one year and Caballo was able to join in on their team. The story continues following that but you must see the book to have that part.

We get colds and flu like symptoms and take pills and potions to alleviate the symptoms without thinking to think about the root causes and rehearse some form of preventative measures.  We experience anxiety and depression and many people may take pills rather than look in your minds to see precisely what is actually causing our issues. 

So what's the controversy? Why doesn't everyone go barefoot after they run? This is the dilemma I face: How in good conscience do I, a podiatrist concentrating on runners and sports medicine, tell people that running on hard surfaces, without the protection of an shoe or support from an orthotic, is okay to do. This violates nearly all of my training and definitely goes against wise practice. A shoe, after all, absorbs shock and will cushion the blow of an unforgiving surface.
